Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force (North) team caught a three-member gang of mobile phone snatchers who were involved in four cases in the city. The police recovered four mobile phones and a motorcycle from them.

Acting on a tip off, the police caught Jakkula Vamshi (21), Jakkula John (22) and Pujari Yesoab (19) who were involved in four snatching cases in Mahankali and Gopalapuram police stations.

“The gang snatched mobile phones from public at isolated places. The stolen phones were being sold at cheaper prices and spent the money on liquor and cigarettes,” said P Radha Kishan Rao, DCP, Task Force.

“The offences were reported earlier this month and the Task Force team zeroed on the suspects after analysing nearly 250 closed circuit camera footages in Secunderabad. They were handed over to Mahankali police, along with the seized material, for further action,” he added.

The Secunderabad railway police had on last September arrested the suspects on similar charges.
