Hyderabad: As many as 31 rowdy sheeters began new chapters of their lives in different police stations in the city. The fresh beginnings were made after the City Police conducted a massive exercise spanning over three months, verifying whether these 31 rowdy sheeters were active in the field of crime and if not, whether their names could be removed from the history sheets.
“After three months of massive exercise, we identified persons who showed good conduct and were not indulging in criminal activities. We are giving them an opportunity to live a decent life along with their families like any other citizen,” City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said during a function organised here on Monday to announce the removal of the 31 names from the history sheets of various police stations.
Stating that the City Police were confident that the persons whose sheets were closed would live up to expectations, the Commissioner said the 31 persons would have to work hard and look after their families.
“A similar exercise will be taken up by the police in all zones of the city,” he said, adding that at the same time, stringent action would be initiated against antisocial elements without discrimination.
