Hyderabad Racing Club suspends jockey Kumar

Hyderabad: The Stewards of the Hyderabad Racing Club (HRC) suspended App. BR Kumar (Pretty Star) from riding in races from October 28 to November 5, both days inclusive, for careless riding as he made no efforts to prevent his mount from shifting in in the final 100 metres of the race. This in the process caused severe interference to Penumatcha’s Pride (Koushik) and forcing in Apache Gal (App. Gopal Singh) in the Mystical Cup, 1400 metres, the first race of the Monday’s races.

In the Onnu Onnu Plate 1,600 metres, App. Rafique Sk (San Vinto) was fined Rs. 3,000 for excessive use of the whip. This was his first offence.

In the Forest Treasure Plate, the explanation of app. Rafique Sk (Withrosemakeup) that his saddle moved front the straight, as such he could not ride out his mount on even keel in the process shifted in in the final stages of the race. The Stewards, however, fined trainer N. Ravinder Singh of Rs. 5,000 for faulty saddling.

Trainer K Satheesh was fined a sum of Rs. 5,000 for inconsistent running of his charge Own Battle (B. Dileep), the winner of this race, who finished off board in the previous outing in the Scintillating Plate, 1100 metres, the fifth race of the day.

App. BR Kumar (La Romance) was fined Rs. 2,000 for shifting in at about the 900 metres in the process caused interference to Southern Crown (Akshay Kumar) racing on the rails.

In the P Antony Memorial Plate, 1,200 metres, the explanation of jockey Akshay Kumar (Vallee Bloomer) that his mount held the bit and jumped out awkwardly on to the horses racing on his inside despite his best efforts was not accepted. The jockey was fined Rs 3,000 for shifting in soon after the start in the process causing interference to Platinum Claasz (Deepak Singh) and Touch of Gold (N. Rawal). Trainer S.S.F. Hassan was advised to show his charge at the gates to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting in a race.

App. BR Kumar (Touch Princess ) was fined Rs.5,000 for shifting in at about the 950 metres in the process causing severe interference to Platinum Claasz (Deepak Singh) racing on the rails.

Jockey Kuldeep Singh (Dione) was fined Rs. 1,000 for shifting in and bumping Cashel (Kunal Bunde) at about the 200 metres.

Meanwhile, The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on October 18, resolved to suspend “A” Trainers License granted to trainer Anupam Sharma with immediate effect (from 19th October, 2017 upto & including 19th December 2017 both days inclusive) for the infringement of medication rules laid down under the HRC Rules of Racing with respect to his charge Western Wind (Akshay Kumar) placed third in the President of India Gold Cup (Grade I) whose urine sample tested positive for the presence of prohibited substances/drugs as reported by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory, Hong Kong and subsequently the split sample (sample B) was confirmed by The Federation Nationale Des Courses Francaises Laboratory, France.

The stewards of the club further fined trainer Anupam Sharma a sum of Rs. 15,000 and disqualified Western Wind from the third place of the same race and ordered for revised placings as under.
