Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) standing committee which met on Thursday approved the Telangana IT department’s project to fix the glitches in Property Tax and Trade licences, besides synchronising the properties database with Registration, Sales Tax, Commercial Tax and revenue departments for bring in new properties under tax purview.
The committee also approved the construction of a Road under Bridge between Begumpet and Nature Cure Hospital at a cost of Rs 2.18 crore. Permission was also accorded to seek administrative sanction from government for construction of grade separators and flyovers at LB Nagar and neighbouring areas at a cost of Rs.48.95 crore. The standing committee also approved recruitment of 126 civil engineers under outsourcing mode and construction of 826 bus shelters among other items on the agenda.
Urban Green Day
Under the Urban Green Day initiative, the GHMC on Thursday planted and distributed 1 lakh saplings in different areas of the city. The programme conducted as part of Haritha Haram also had Mayor Bonthu Rammohan planting saplings at Nehrunagar and Chakrapuri crossroads at Kapra and Haritha Haram Officer on Special Duty Priyanka Verghese planting saplings in Qutbullapur.
