Hyderabad: With a 300-acre multi-modal integrated logistics park in Shamshabad and 12 others to come up soon around the city, Hyderabad is poised to become the logistics hub of the country.
Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, laying the foundation for two of these parks at Batasingaram and Mangalpalli on the city outskirts on Friday, said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao instructed officials to prepare plans for a 300-acre multi-modal integrated logistics park in Shamshabad. This would have integrated air, rail and road connectivity.
Ten more logistics parks would be constructed around Hyderabad to facilitate smooth transportation of goods, besides generating employment. Together, these would make Hyderabad the logistics hub of the country and a gateway to South India, he said.
The parks at Batasingaram and Mangalpalli are being developed under public-private partnership with an investment of Rs 60 crore. With parking space for 750 trucks, fuel stations, cold storages and warehouses, these parks will minimise entry of heavy vehicles into the city, reducing pollution.
Locations of the proposed parks will be announced post Cabinet approval, Rao said, adding that impressed with the Telangana government’s policies, industries were looking towards the State for investment. e-Commerce companies such as Amazon and Flipkart already established their fulfillment centres here.
Works on the Kandlakoya Junction on Outer Ring Road will be completed in a month, thus finishing the completing 159-km of the Ring Road project, he said.
