Hyderabad to host Mining Today 2018 from Feb 14

Hyderabad: The Mining Engineers Association of India (MEAI) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) with the support of State Government are jointly organising ‘Mining Today 2018-International Conference-cum-Exhibition’ at HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad from 14-17 February 2018. The inauguration of the event is scheduled at 4 pm on February 14.

The Mining Today 2018, an international conference-cum-exhibition is organised by Telangana to congregate mining entrepreneurs and showcase latest technology-its transfer, machinery and its impact on mineral sector growth in a global perspective.

The conference will focus on mineral exploration, mine design techniques, policy, environment, mines safety aspects, opportunities in mining sector, transfer of emerging technology and will allow interaction/wining business dialogues, platform to launch new products.

The theme of the event is T-E-M-P-O (Technology, Equipment, Machinery, Policy and Overseas). The conference will have technical sessions on themes such as mineral exploration-focusing on new trends in exploration, exploitation & development in mining, mining technology-featuring on overseas technology transfer, remote sensing applications in exploration and mining, star ratings of mines, mineral tenement system, mining surveillance system, latest machinery towards augmenting production.

It will also cover mineral concessions and legislation-with deliberations on regulation in grant of leases & regulation, environment- session on mining activity, safe guarding ecology, environmental clearances-empowering district administration, mineral economics, financing and investments-focusing on economics focusing on taxation, value addition, atomic mineral, beach sands, river sands & crushed stone sands emphasising on Uranium & Beach sand deposits-its future importance, impact of sand mining and crushed sand stone as an substitute to river sand; and sustainable framework & prospective mineral scenario-with special focus on Telangana State-sustainable development of mineral sector, investment opportunities.

Exhibitors, delegates and participants are coming from Asia, Africa, United States of America, Canada, Australia to participate in the event. ESL Narasimhan, Governor of Telangana State will be the chief guest, Union Minister of Mines Narendra Singh Tomar will be the special guest. Arun Kumar, secretary for Mines; Aruna Sharma, secretary for Steel will also address the gathering.

The valedictory session is scheduled on February 16 where Dr Harsha Vardhan, Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India will take part as chief guest. C K Mishra, secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change will also address the gathering.

The conference is for first two days- February 15 and 16 and is for business delegates. The exhibition is for all three days- February 15, 16 and 17 and is open for general public.
