Hyderabad to host World Kite and Sweet Festival from January 13 to 15

Hyderabad: Hyderabad is set to host World Sweet Festival and International Kite Festival at Parade Grounds between January 13 and 15, which also coincides with Sankranti festival.

Tourism Secretary, Burra Venkatesham on Thursday in a review meeting, said that the sweet festival will reflect the culture and food habits of various Countries in the World.

“Every State has a sweet with its own speciality and we aim to display all such delicacies in the festival. Such events also help in building intimacy and respect among people from different States,” he said.

The Tourism Secretary said that display of nearly 50 varieties of sweets from 25 States at one place will be the festival’s highlight. For persons who relish consuming sweets, the organisers will also display 1,000 varieties of sweets for purchase.

Burra Venkateshwam said that it was important for all the States in India to ensure participation. Members of Cultural Associations drawn from various States in India will be preparing traditional sweet dishes for the festival.
