Hyderabad: The North Zone’s Market police on Tuesday nabbed two notorious bike thieves involved in more than a dozen cases and recovered 10 two-wheelers valued at Rs 3 lakh from them.

One of the arrested was identified as A Vijender Reddy alias Raju (35), a medical representative from Siddipet. He was also the vice-sarpanch and ward member of Pandilla village from 2005 to 2009. The second suspect was Mohd Younus Mohinuddin alias Younus (32), an auto consultant from Karimnagar.

The bikes seized from the bike lifters on Tuesday.

According to the police, following a complaint from K Srinivas, a medical representative stating that his bike which was parked at Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad was stolen, a case was booked and during investigation, Vijender was nabbed near Yashoda Hospital.

He stole the bikes and gave them to Younus, who sold them and shared profits with Reddy. Younus was earlier arrested by the Karimnagar Town police in 2016 for similar offences.
