Hyderabad: A housewife was allegedly murdered at her house in Shamshabad on Saturday night
According to the police, Akshita Reddy, 25, was married to Raghavendra Reddy, a businessman from Shamshabad in August 2017. The couple lived at R B Nagar in Shamshabad under RGI Airport police station area.
On Saturday, the woman was reportedly found hanging in the house by her in-laws who informed the family members of Akshita and the RGI Airport police.
The family of Akshita told the police that Raghavendra Reddy and his parents were harassing Akshita for Rs 10 lakh. The family members said that at the time of marriage Rs 50 lakh cash, gold ornaments and other household articles were given.
“The family members of Akshita suspect that the woman was strangulated to death by her husband and in-laws and the body hanged to portray it as a suicide,” said Inspector RGI Airport police station, G Vijay Bhaskar Reddy.
Based on a complaint made by the family members of Akshita, the police registered a case under Section 302 (murder) and 304 B (Where the death of a woman is caused by any burns or bodily injury or occurs otherwise than under normal circumstances within seven years of her marriage) of Indian Penal Code. Investigation is going on, the Inspector maintained.
