Hyderabad:  A woman, Sana Fathima from the old city here, who had gone to Qatar seven months ago to work as a beautician, has now landed in trouble with her travel agent Fathima planning to perform her marriage with an Arab.

Sana, a resident of Resham Bagh in Golconda, was in search for a job as her husband was working in Kuwait and there was no one to look after her child and parents. The agent Fathima and her two sons Imran and Irfan from Nadeem Colony in Tolichowki approached Sana promising her a beautician’s job in Qatar with a salary of Rs.50,000.

On September 16 last year, she went to Qatar where Fathima’s husband handed her over to an Arab for working as a house-keeping staff instead of a beautician. When she resisted, Fathima’s husband threatened Sana that he would perform her marriage with an Arab if she did not mend her ways.

After working for three months, Sana fell ill due to unbearable torture and unhygienic living conditions. Sana’s father Mohammed Toufeeq said his daughter requested Fathima to send her back to India but she refused.

As Fathima was planning to perform Sana’s marriage with an Arab, she escaped from there and approached the local police. “My daughter called us and broke down requesting to rescue her from that place and bring her back to the city,” Toufeeq, an auto-rickshaw driver, said.

He requested the State government and the Indian Embassy in Doha to take necessary steps to rescue Sana. He urged the government to take necessary action against Fathima and her two sons for cheating Sana in the name of providing job in Qatar.
