Hyderabad: The surgeons at MaxCure Hospital gave a new lease of life to a 26-year-old youngster Ashok Kumar who met with a road accident on July 8 and received several critical life threatening injuries.

According to doctors, Ashok received multiple injuries on his right leg, scrotum, scapula and lower back. There was no blood circulation to the right lower limb and a local hospital had advised amputation, a statement from MaxCure said.

“We conducted multiple surgical procedures and managed to save the leg by reconnecting the blood vessels in the leg, which enabled Ashok to regain vascularity. All the damaged tissues were removed and special therapy was taken up later,” said senior plastic surgeon, Dr Kiran Banda.

The doctors said that Ashok is now able to walk with support and will be able to lead a normal life in the future.
