Hyderabad: Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (Hysea) in association with Infosys hosted a three-day hackathon for women on the topic ‘Building a Smart City’.
The theme of the hackathon was #PressforProgress and was meant to provide a platform for women techies in Hyderabad to create solutions for Building a Smart City focusing on areas of health, safety, education, ecofriendly, workplace automation.
About 20 teams and 100 women techies participated in the hackathon held on March 12 at Infosys Campus in Gachibowli. The Final Teams were from Wells Fargo, Invesco, Infosys, Value Momentum, HSBC Software development India, MOURI Tech Pvt.Ltd, and OpenText Technologies India Private Limited.
The solutions were based on a wide range of technologies including Android Studio, Google cloud, R studio, Big-data, AI and Neural networks, Visual studio, MS Bot framework, MS LUIS, Azure, Java/J2EE, Mongo DB, Python, XML, TensorFlow, Spring Boot, Angular 2, H2 etc.
The winners were team T-Arogyam from HSBC Software for digital solution on health, safety and education combined into one for the civic population usage; team Lucy from Infosys for their virtual assistant to support women at both personal and official front; team Women in Tech from Invesco for their visual interactive solution for reporting to Municipal authorities/GHMC; special jury mention award was given to team Women of Wells from WellsFargo for their solution Life Savior.
Winners won cash vouchers worth Rs 50,000 in addition to mementos. The second prize winners won Rs 30,000 worth of vouchers and third price and Special Jury mention won Rs 10,000 worth of cash vouchers.
