IAS officers to assess Kaleshwaram project works

The officials will take stock of works and review pending issues pertain to their respective departments enabling themselves to take necessary steps for compliance so as to complete the project well before the schedule.

Hyderabad:  Two teams of senior IAS officers will visit the Kaleshwaram project site and take stock of the work progress this week.

The first team comprising 20 senior IAS officers, mostly those of the rank of Principal Secretaries, led by special Chief Secretary SK Joshi will visit the project on Thursday. Another team consisting of same number of senior bureaucrats led by Secretary Irrigation Vikas Raj will visit the project August 5.

The visit of the senior officials were being organized at the behest of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who wanted the top brass of the State administration to be in the know of massive operations in progress as part of the construction of the package 6 and 8 under the major irrigation project which is high on the State government.

These officials will take stock of the works and review pending issues pertaining to their respective departments enabling themselves to take necessary steps for compliance so as to complete the project well before the schedule.

The government has focused it full attention to both Kaleshwaram and the supplementation scheme of the Sriram Sagar Reservoir ahead of foundation stone laying for SRSP phase-I and II rehabilitation programme by the Chief Minister schedule for August 10.
