IDA Bollaram municipality to get a facelift

New municipality will be developed on par with other developed towns by providing all basic infrastructure, says Minister Harish Rao

Sangareddy: Irrigation Minister, T Harish Rao said that IDA Bollaram, which was declared as municipality by the State government recently, will soon get Rs 20 crore initial fund to give a facelift to the new municipality.

Addressing the gathering after laying a foundation stone for construction of a reservoir of Mission Bhagiratha at IDA Bollaram here on Wednesday, Harish Rao said that the new municipality will be developed on par with other developed towns by providing all basic infrastructure facilities.

Asking the citizens to help the municipal authorities to maintain hygiene, Rao appealed them to make the emerging town free from plastic and garbage. He instructed the Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu to clean up the IDA Bollaram lake ahead of Bathukamma festival to help the women of the town celebrate the festival of flowers.

The Minister said that they would provide free tapped drinking water to each and every house in Bollaram by Dasara. He talked about various development and welfare schemes initiated by the State government.

Earlier, Rao laid foundation stones for construction of 33/11 sub-stations in Ameenpur and Kollur. He also inspected the under-construction double-bedroom houses at these places. Rao inaugurated a 33/11KV sub-station.
