Nutrition Awareness Camp by IDA Telangana Chapter stressed importance of a balanced diet

IDA encouraging kids to eat healthy and stay active

The Indian Dietetic Association – Telangana chapter, in association with Lions Club, Kothapet, conducted a Nutrition Awareness Camp.

The camp was attended by dieticians from all leading corporate hospitals including Yashoda, Apollo, Global, Sunshine and Omni SLG.

Nutrition screening for students from Class VI to X was carried out. More than 500 orphan children were screened and counselling offered to them at the camp.

Talks by gynaecologists dwelt on menstrual hygiene and girl health issues and dietician Sunitha, joint convenor, IDA, Telangana chapter, spoke on iron deficiency among girls and stressed the importance of a balanced diet.

Sujatha Stephen, nutritionist and IDA executive member, spoke on healthy nutrition for young girls and encouraged them to eat healthy and be active. Pamphlets on healthy nutrition were also distributed to the participating children.
