IIIT-Hyderabad to organise ‘R&D Showcase-2018’ from Feb 24

Hyderabad: International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H), is organising its annual flagship event, R&D Showcase-2018, at its Gachibowli campus on February 24 and 25.

This annual event allows general public to interact with faculty and students to understand their work in a more tangible form through demos, display of prototypes and presentations in keeping with the institute’s endeavour to promote applied research that benefits society. Over 1,500 visitors including those from industry, academia, media and investors will attend the various events during the showcase.

Speaking about the event, Vasudeva Varma, Dean, Research, IIIT-H, said, “The theme for this year’s R&D showcase is entertainment – in particular how artificial intelligence and machine learning and deep tech has been changing the face of entertainment.”

Prof Varma added, “IIIT-H researchers will be showcasing their own research and latest technology innovations in the entertainment domain by using computer vision, cognitive science, and automated content generation. This is in addition to a couple of hundreds of projects on display from various research centres and labs.”
