IIT-Hyderabad Prof Chandrashekar wins Young Scientist Award

Sharma discovered an environment-friendly way of recycling of thermocol and making lithium-ion battery using candle soot, among many others, during his tenure as faculty.

Sangareddy: Chandrashekar Sharma, faculty of IIT-H’s Department of Chemical Engineering, received Young Scientist Award at the 87th annual session of National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI).

The award carries Rs 25,000 cash prize, a bronze medal and certificate. Sharma discovered an environment-friendly way of recycling of thermocol and making lithium-ion battery using candle soot, among many others, during his tenure as faculty. IIT-H Director Prof UB Desai and others congratulated him for winning the Young Scientist Award.
