IIT Hyderabad to host student hackathon from September 29

The event is being organised to encourage entrepreneurial spirit among students by IIT-H and IIIT-H.

Sangareddy: Megathon-18, a student hackathon, will be organised by Entrepreneurial-cell (E-Cell) of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Hyderabad) and Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-Hyderabad) at IIIT-H campus on September 29 and 30.

The event is being organised to encourage entrepreneurial spirit among students and is one the largest student hackathons arranged in Hyderabad. The highly anticipated event is a rigorous 24-hour contest that will be held from 5 pm, September 29 to 5 pm, September 30.

The winning teams get to pitch their business idea at Business Hack in front of VCs, corporates and top academia to convert their ideas into services or products with a feasible revenue model.

Students who present best ideas will stand a chance of getting internships. First prize is Rs 40,000, second prize is Rs 20,000 and there will be three other special prizes. Ayush Kuma of E-Cell, IIT-H, Telangana said Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT Ministry, Telangana, would inaugurate the event.
