Nirmal: Collector Md Musharraf Ali Faruqui instructed the officials concerned to efficiently implement the ongoing sixth edition of Telangana Ku Harita Haram (THH) in the district. He convened a review meeting with officials of rural development, municipal, forest, panchayat Raj and many other departments over the progress of the plantation initiative here on Thursday.
Musharraf stated that a target of 68.9 lakh saplings was fixed for the district. He said that sufficient saplings were made available at nurseries belonging to rural development, forest, municipal, forest and horticulture departments. He told the authorities to take up plantation on the premises of State-run educational institutions, hospitals and offices of the forest department.
The IAS officer directed the officials of Panchayat Raj to take steps for growing saplings on either side of internal roads in villages. He ordered the officials to report information of saplings being planted every day as part of the massive plantation drive. He told them to achieve the target of the phase by the end of July.
Earlier, the Collector inspected Bhainsa town and instructed officials of municipality to take steps for developing the town on many fronts. He said that a segregation shed would be created for managing the solid and wet waste. He added that an urban park would be developed for providing recreation to residents and saplings were going to be planted in it under the ongoing THH.
