Mancherial: Government Whip and Chennur MLA Balka Suman on Friday said the government was giving paramount importance to improvement of infrastructure in the rural areas of the State.
Suman was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a black top road from Gangaram village to Ponnaram in Chennur mandal. The estimated cost of the road laying is Rs 8.23 crore.
Suman said the government laid a special focus on bettering road connectivity and public transportation of villages. Accordingly, doubling of roads from mandal centre to headquarters of Assembly segment and black top roads to each village were taken up soon after the TRS formed the government in 2014, he said.
He said he was striving hard for transforming the Chennur Assembly constituency on many facets. He recalled that he had secured funds for NH 63 on which works were stalled for a long time. He stated that roads of rural parts were repaired and new stretches were created for several villages, besides construction of bridges across many streams.
The legislator urged the public to wear face masks and to practice physical distancing for breaking the chain of Covid-19. To mark the birthday of Minister KT Rama Rao recently, he said he had donated ambulances for Covid patients. He added that measures were being taken for curtailing the spread of the deadly virus.
The MLA later laid the foundation stone to a check dam across a stream in Rasulpalli village of Jaipur mandal.
