Every Independence Day, different musicians come up with their own versions of what the day means to them. Sesha Sai Karra, from Hyderabad and a student of Whistle Wizard Siva Prasad too has come up with his own version through a cover of Maa Tujhe Salaam. “After National Anthem, it’s ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’, composed by AR Rahman, is recognised by people worldwide. And, I am a great fan of AR Rahman. This song has lots of patriotism hidden in it and it’s a tough song that many won’t dare to attempt,” says Sesha Sai.

It’s took three years of practice for Sesha Sai to perfect the song on whistle and finally, he is set to release the video on August 15. “This is a high scale song, and nobody would try to attempt it. It’s much harder to recreate on a whistle. Finally, I think I did justice to this song” says Sesha Sai, who chose Hampi for monuments, Kerala for greenery and Chirala for beach locations.

Sesha Sai feels that he is lucky that he is supported by good friends. His friends from USA helped him bring out the song and Indian Idol fame PVNS Rohit pitched in with vocal support. The video was shot and edited by his friend Venkat Manga. “I am lucky to have such good friends in my life. I hope this cover song will make everyone happy,” says Sesha Sai, who has given more than 1,500 performances along with his guru across India and is planning to release this song on social media soon.
