Hyderabad: Cricket lovers in the city were in for disappointment on Wednesday as all the online tickets of Rs 800 and Rs 1500 denomination have been sold out for the India-Australia third T20 match to be held on October 13 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal.
According to the spokesman of the www.eventsnow.com, there was huge demand for these two denominations for the T20 match. A total of 33,832 tickets out of 39,632-capacity stadium are being sold for the match. The online ticket sales started on September 30. However, online tickets for higher denomination are available, the spokesman said.
Arun Venkat, an executive of a software company, was livid as he could not get the tickets for the match. “We are upset as we have not been able to get the tickets.’’
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Cricket Association, which announced that the hard-copy tickets would be sold on October 7 at Gymkhana and at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium at Uppal, could be postponed for two or three days.
HCA secretary T Shesh Narayan said since there is four-day Ranji Trophy match between Hyderabad and Maharashtra from October 6 to 9 at Gymkhana, the tickets may be sold in these two counters from October 10. “It will be difficult to manage the crowd and as such we may postpone it for three days.”
