Hyderabad: The scion of Asaf Jahi dynasty Prince Muffakham Jah Bahadur felicitated the newly appointed Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia Dr. Ausaf Sayeed and presented a memento during a felicitation program organised here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sayeed said “India and Saudi Arabia will strengthen their bilateral relations on different fronts and the association between these two countries will reach newer heights”. He said India-Saudi relations are centuries old and added, “the Seventh Nizam provided financial assistance for the completion of Railways project in Hijaz, Saudi Arabia and the King Saud of Saudi Arabia visited Hyderabad and the Nizam of Hyderabad
welcomed the Saudi King.”
In his remarks, the Minority Affairs advisor to Government of Telangana, AK Khan said “in view of the historic relations between Hyderabad and Saudi Arabia, a Consulate can be set up in Saudi Arabia as it will benefit the NRIs in Telangana State and also promote business.”
He said the Telangana government has already proposed the Saudi Government to set up a consulate in Hyderabad as it will also benefit trade. Dr. Ausaf Sayeed assured to take up the proposal soon.
