Nirmal: Minister for Forests, Environment, Endowments and Housing Allola Indrakaran Reddy instructed authorities concerned to take steps for developing Nirmal town on all fronts. He along with Collector Md Musharraf Ali inspected designs of proposed developmental works in Nirmal on Thursday.
Indrakaran told the authorities of municipality and other departments to commence the works of beautification at the earliest. He directed them to begin works relating to widening of road from bus stand to Mancherial chowrasta and model vegetable market, beautification of Shyamgarh and Battishgarh forts, conversation of Dharmasagar into mini-tank bund, creation of national flags at certain places of the town.
The minister informed that beautification of the district centre was being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore. He said that welcoming arches in four directions and water fountains at some important junctions and central lighting would be created as part of the works. He added that Nirmal town would be converted into a tourist spot soon.
Additional Collector A Bhaskar Rao, Municipal chairman Gandrath Eshwar, Commissioner Balakrishna, Deputy Engineer Santosh, TRS leader Ramkishan Reddy and many others were present. Later, Indrakaran Reddy consoled Chincholi (B) Sarpanch Chatla Laxmi, whose mother died of some ailment recently.
