Inspections of eateries continues

So far, in the crackdown against the eateries not following guidelines, the GHMC teams have carried out inspections of 289 hotels and restaurants and penalties, to the tune of Rs 14 lakh were imposed against 171 eateries.

Hyderabad: Inspections of eateries in the city for quality of food and hygiene by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued on Wednesday. 

Teams of food inspectors and other officials of the civic body on Wednesday inspected 18 hotels and restaurants in different parts of the city and having found lack of sanitation in the premises and also use of unstamped meat, imposed penalties on eight of them, according to a press release issued here.

So far, in the crackdown against the eateries not following guidelines, the GHMC teams have carried out inspections of 289 hotels and restaurants and penalties, to the tune of Rs 14 lakh were imposed against 171 eateries.

Also, ten hotels on Wednesday gave consent to allow general public use toilets at their premise taking the total number of hotels who gave consent to 304, the release added.
