Hyderabad: The Cyberabad CCS police on Friday arrested a five-member interstate gang involved in more than 50 cases in the two Telugu States. Officials recovered 175 grams of gold and 350 grams of silver from them. The arrested persons were K Srinivasa Rao from Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, R Shankar Naik from Regimental Bazaar, M Rama Rao from Nizampet, Ch Sidindhri from Prakasam of AP and M Suresh Babu, also from Guntur.
Srinivasa Rao, who was arrested by the AP police in a similar case last year, was released from the Ongole prison in July. When the others were also out, they began committing offences in the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate area. Staying in shelters on the city outskirts, they were stealing motorcycles and targeting locked houses to break into, police said.
