Hyderabad: Several students and parents staged a protest at Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) here on Saturday alleging errors in mark memos.
Some of the protesters even tried to gherao the BIE Secretary Ashok Kumar and claimed that despite appearing for exams, they were marked absent in the mark sheet in some of the subjects.
Meanwhile, the BIE in a statement issued later in the evening, said like previous years, this year too, data capturing was done by government organisation Centre for Good Governance.
Following government’s approval and technical eligibility, Globarena computer agency was handed over the responsibility of issuing hall tickets and results processing.
On Saturday, few students and parents submitted 146 online fail mark sheets. After checking the records, the parents and students were informed that they were infact fail mark sheets.
Dismissing the reports that there were mistakes in results and memos, the BIE said if any student or parents had apprehensions over the issue, they can apply for re-verification on payment of Rs 600. The BIE was facilitating the provision of obtaining a copy of answer sheet online, following the payment.
This apart, candidates can apply for re-counting on payment of Rs 100. The BIE further appealed to the students and parents not to get worried and not to believe in any rumours.
A helpdesk was set up for the convenience of students and parents to get their doubts clarified over phone number 040-2460-0110 or log on to bie.telangana.gov.in website.
In districts, students can approach respective District Educational Officer or nodal officer, the statement said.
