Hyderabad: All roads will lead to Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday as the city is set to host an IPL final for the first time.

The stadium, which turned into a fortress, wore a colourful look on this occasion. Although hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to make it to the finals, Hyderabadis are showing a great interest in the match as some big guns — Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Steven Smith, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard and local boy Ambati Rayudu — will be seen in this summit clash of the IPL-10 edition.

It will be a full-house for the final. According to a spokesman of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), all the tickets from the lower denomination of Rs 800 to Rs 7,500 were sold out. “The ticket sales picked up since Friday and there is suddenly a huge clamour for tickets,’’ he said.

All the top officials of the BCCI, including the Committee of Administrators chief Vinod Rai and CEO Rahul Johri, have already arrived for the occasion. Most of the Telangana Ministers are expected to watch the gala final. The final will witness fireworks after the end of the match.

Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made for the match. As many as 1,800 police personnel would be deployed for the bandobust. Over 88 CCTVs would be installed in and around the stadium apart from the parking area. A special party was arranged separately to meet with any exigency.
