Hyderabad: YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy squarely blamed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the murder of former MP and his paternal uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy who was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Pulivendula on Friday. He alleged that TDP leadership was in power and was aware of conspiracies whenever a ‘death occurred in his family’ and demanded a CBI probe into the incident to bring out the facts. He appealed to the people not to react and keep their poise in the hour of crisis.

Speaking to mediapersons after paying tributes to Vivekananda Reddy at Pulivendula on Friday, Jaganmohan Reddy wondered if there was a pattern in the series of murders in his family. “First my grandfather Raja Reddy was murdered. Then there was a murder attempt on my life at Visakhapatnam airport. Today, my uncle has been murdered under suspicious circumstances. During all these crimes, TDP has been in power. Even two days before the helicopter crash in which my father YS Rajasekhara Reddy died, Chandrababu Naidu challenged in the Assembly that the former will not return to the House,” he said.

He felt that there was a conspiracy in the murders of his family members and the details would come out in full only when there was an investigation by an independent agency such as the CBI. He alleged that his uncle was hacked to death and a scene was enacted to colour the murder as a natural death. “I have no faith in the Special Investigation Team set up by the State government and demand a CBI investigation into the death,” he added. He said the family will represent to the authorities concerned for a CBI probe as the ongoing investigation had been shoddy.

He also alleged that the police were trying to sidetrack the investigation with wrong leads and fabricated evidence as was done after an attack on him at Visakhapatnam airport. He said the police brought out a letter purportedly written by Vivekananda Reddy before dying which defies all logic. Though he was murdered with hatchets in his bed, the killers are trying to show as if he walked up to the bathroom where he died after collapsing due to loss of blood. This is nothing but fabrication of the crime scene. If he collapsed in the bathroom, how can he write a letter that hints at involvement of a driver,” he questioned.
