Kakinada: YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday gave a call to the people to put an end to the corrupt Telugu Desam Party government to improve their lot.
Addressing the Samara Sankharava Sabha here, he reminded them that the YSRCP was entering its ninth year on the morrow and he was aware of the sufferings they were subjected to by the ruling party during this period.
“You have stood by me through thick and thin and withstood all the suffering. Once the YSRCP comes to power, it will be ensured all the false cases foisted on you are withdrawn. We have to bury the TDP in peace and provide good governance,” he stated.
Making a fervent appeal to the people to give a chance for the YSRCP in the April 11 elections, Jagan noted that the TDP under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had cheated the farmers in the name of farm loan waiver and the youth with respect to unemployment dole. It had cheated the people without implementing any of the 600 promises made in the election manifesto and launched a sand mafia and grabbed temple lands, he pointed out. It also stooped to make money through irregularities in construction of toilets, he added and wanted a debate on the tyranny of Chandrababu Naidu Government at the village level to ensure the TDP was not re-elected.
He asked them to be wary of false propaganda by the yellow media of Eenadu, Andhra Jyothi, TV 5 and other print media and TV channels and alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had even begun to remove voters from the electoral list and would appoint those who indulging in tampering of EVMs as his advisers.
“Chandrababu has destroyed every institution. The Intelligence officers are acting like his watchmen. We should debate widely on IT Grids data theft . Who is Chandrababu to hand over the people’s data to private organisations? The TDP should be scrapped for this cyber crime. He was caught redhandedly in ‘cash for vote’ case and now while removing votes from the electoral list,” he stated.
Recalling that the YSRCP had lost by a mere one per cent margin or about five lakh votes during the 2014 elections, Jagan said that every vote would count in the present polls for YSRCP to emerge victor.
