Hyderabad: A local court in Erramanzil here on Wednesday sentenced Nandamuri Jayakrishna, son of former Chief Minister late N T Rama Rao to undergo six months of simple imprisonment in connection with a cheque bounce case registered in 2015.

The court also directed him to pay a fine of Rs 25 lakh. The case was booked against him based on a complaint lodged by the then Ramakrishna theatre canteen owner Narsing Rao. Rao’s counsel Someshwar Rao confirmed that Jayakrishna was sentenced. He was, however, granted bail later in the case.
