Janata Curfew: Highways, arterial roads look empty in Nalgonda

Nalgonda: All roads including National Highway 65 (Hyderabad-Vijayawada) and Highway No 163 (Hyderabad-Warangal) in erstwhile Nalgonda district wore a deserted look as people remained confined themselves to their houses as a part of ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday.

At Yellapuram thanda in Tirumalgiri (Sagar) mandal in Nalgonda district, youth blocked roads by placing boulders on the roads restricting the movements of any vehicles into their villages.

Vehicles coming from Guntur were also stopped at Wadapally check post and not permitted into the district. The buses of TSRTC in seven depots in erstwhile Nalgonda district were remained confined to the depots as all the services were cancelled.

Shops, hotels, malls, supermarkets and other establishments also remained closed in the district. Police conducted counselling to the people, who ventured out on the roads at Mothkur and Bibinagar and urged them to vacate the places. Police also increased their patrolling in the town.
