Hyderabad: Telangana’s IM Sai Agni Jeevitesh, representing Airports Authority of India, won gold for his performance on the sixth board at the 40th national team chess championship in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
He played six matches and won five of them that helped his team clinch silver. Meanwhile, Telangana team, comprising GM Erigaisi Arjun, Harsha Bharathkoti, FM Matta Vinay Kumar, IM Rahul Srivatshav and PDS Girinath, finished in fifth place. PSPB took the gold while Airports Authority of India won silver. Railways Sports Promotion Board B team stood at the third place.
