Juvenile held for molesting boy

Hyderabad: The Ghatkesar police on Monday apprehended a 15-year-old boy on charges of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy.

According to B Prakash, Inspector, Ghatkesar, the incident took place on Sunday and the victim’s parents lodged a complaint on Monday morning.

The arrested juvenile is a Class VIII student, while the victim is a Class VI student. Both went to the same school, and on Sunday, they were playing with their friends when the former allegedly took the victim into the near bushes after luring him with toys.

“He took him into the bushes and assaulted him,” the Inspector said, adding that after the incident, the suspect ran away.

The victim told his parents, who then approached the police and lodged a complaint on Monday morning. Police have registered a case under Section 377 of Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and are investigating.

The Inspector said that the juvenile was arrested and would be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board on Tuesday.
