Kamareddy: Kamareddy police cracked the mystery behind the kidnap of an infant from a tent of ayurvedic medicine sellers ten days ago by arresting four persons. The police rescued the child and handed over to parents

Kamareddy SP N Swetha Reddy said that the infant was kidnapped on July 31 from the tent of ayurvedic medicine sellers on the roadside. DSP T Lakshmi Narayana who led the investigation busted the gang involved in the kidnap of infants. The kidnapers hailing from Sangareddy town later forced the children to work in hotels or beg on streets, the SP said.

The SP said CCTV camera footage was examined and found that the couple escaped with an infant in AP-23 Y-3977 auto-rickshaw on July 31. She said that the same auto-rickshaw appeared on Tuesday at Bhiknoor while conducting routine vehicle check-up. The police took the auto driver into custody. The SP said Vaddera Padma formed a gang along with Undadi Naveen, Mamidal Venkatesh, both auto drivers and Kudali Ravali, household workers and used to abduct infants and children. Padma used to sell these abducted infants to childless couples or convert them as baggers or bonded labourers.

Police arrest the accused Padma, Naveen, Venkatesh and Ravali and handover the infant to its parents.
