A unique event was held in memory of celebrities belonging to the film field — directors, music composers, lyricists and playback singers — who were born or died in the month of July. The programme was organised at Phoenix Arena, Madhapur.

Over 16 participants from the city group ‘Dakshin Dhwani’ and the ‘Hyderabad Karaoke Club’ sang over 30 songs in memory of singing legends like Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh and also music directors like Madan Mohan, lyricists like Raja Mehdi Ali Khan and Rajendra Krishan.

An audio-visual medley of the hits of director Bimal Roy was a special highlight, as the event had a perfect blend of both vocal and non-vocal items like a harmonica rendition.
