Karimnagar man dies in road accident in US

Reddy, who has been in the US for nearly 10 years, was involved in an accident in Miami on Saturday.

Karimnagar: Bharath Reddy Narahari, a native of Vidhyanagar of Karimnagar town, died in a road accident in Miami, south Florida, US on January 13. Earlier reports said Reddy suffered critical injuries in the accident, but it was confirmed on Thursday that he died in the accident.

The incident occurred when a truck hit him. According to Mahender Reddy, a cousin of the deceased, Bharath Reddy, who was passionate about cycling, was preparing to take part in the Ironman Cycling Championship competitions.

As part of the practice, Bharath Reddy and a group of cyclists went on a ride and on the road, three bicycles dashed against each other and the riders fell on the road. A heavy truck passing by hit them from behind, with Bharath Reddy, who suffered serious injuries, being killed on the spot.

According to the Miami Medical Examiner database, the accident was recorded at 9:40 am on January 13.

His brother, who is in Australia was on his way to Florida as per reports. His parents, who live in Vidyanagar area of Karimnagar town, hail from Malkapuram village. His father Laxma Reddy, a retired teacher, was the former president of the Karimnagar unit of the Panchayat Raj Teachers Union. Both Laxma Reddy and his wife have been informed about their son’s accident and that he is in a critical condition.

Bharath Reddy, who has worked as a senior business intelligence systems engineer with companies like Black Knight Financial Services, as a business intelligence consultant for CGI among others, all in the Florida area, was working on the SAP Business Intelligence System of Baptist Health, a firm in South Florida. He took his master’s degree in computer science in 2006-2007 from the University of Bridgeport.
