Karimnagar: Local MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday called upon girls to undergo self-defence training in the wake of rising crimes against women.
Participating in ‘Mission Sahasi’ organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at SRR College grounds here, Kumar said unfortunately, an Intermediate student, Radhika, was murdered in broad daylight at her home. In the wake of increasing attacks on women, girls must be aware about martial arts to protect themselves from miscreants.
“India is a country where women are considered as goddess. So, women must follow traditions and customs, instead of the Western culture, the MP said. He praised ABVP’s initiative to educate women on self-defense tactics.
