Karimangar police commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy planting trees in City police Training Centre in Karimnagar on Friday.

Karimnagar : Cops attached to Karimnagar police commissionerate, who developed a small forest at City Police Training Centre adapting the Miyawaki system, have taken up Miyawaki project-II.

Commissioner of police VB Kamalasan Reddy started the second project by planting trees in CPTC on Friday. He said that trees are lifeline for all living beings. “The present as well as future generations will enjoy a healthy environment if trees are planted now,” he said.

When he got the idea of developing a Miyawaki forest, he along with experts visited CPTC. After examining the soil, the experts said it was suitable for only three types of trees, he said, adding that the area which used to look like a desert, had turned into a lush green place within a short period of five months.

Additional DCPs S Srinivas (law and order), and G Chandramohan (administration), ACPs Shiva Bhaskar, Ashok, Vijayasaradhi, Sundaragiri Srinivas, Shankarraju, Madan Lal, Srinivas, Somanath and others participated in the programme.
