Karimnagar: MP B Vinod Kumar informed that he was making efforts to include Karimnagar city in the Central government tourism scheme, PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) to develop pilgrimage tourism besides culture in the town.
Since famous pilgrimage centers such as Vemulawada, Dharmapuri and Kaleshwaram are very nearer to Karimnagar, they were contemplating to secure place for Karimnagar in PRASAD, which aims to develop pilgrimage tourism besides culture.
The MP along with Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Mayor S Ravinder Singh, MLA Gangula Kamalakar, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao inaugurated two jet skis, a speed boat and a jetty boat in Lower Manair Dam on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the MP said that the authorities have plans to develop Karimnagar wherein tourists come from Hyderabad and other States would spend a day.
Water sports would also be introduced at LMD since the water in the project would be available for 365 days once Kaleshwaram project was completed. A cruise would also be arranged to organise functions and parties on the lines of those held at Hussian Sagar. Talking about manair river front development project, the MP said that the State government has allocated Rs 500 crore for the project in the budget. The land acquisition for the project was under processes.
Karimnagar MLA-elect Kamalakar hoped that town would become a famous tourism destination in the coming month. Stating that manair river front and IT park works were under progress, he said they have also decided to construct 20 to 30 resorts, auditorium and a park at LMD.
