Hyderabad: Nizamabad Member of Parliament K. Kavitha on Friday called for a combined effort from all the stakeholders to highlight the challenges involved in cancer care in the country.
On Friday evening, while inaugurating the third edition of Apollo Cancer Conclave (ACC) and seventh edition of Cancer CI 2017, the Nizamabad MP was all praise for actor Manisha Koirala and her attempts to spread awareness on the importance of not losing hope while fighting the ailment.
“Manisha has again proved that pretty can be tough. She is an inspiration for others who are fighting the ailment. The more information I was trying to dig about cancer, I realised the gravity of the situation that the country face, she said.
Speaking on the occasion, Manisha Koirala said that cancer is not a death sentence and it’s necessary to give hope to people who have lost hope due to cancer.
“When I was diagnosed with cancer, the whole world shook for me. I was lucky to have received treatment from best doctors. My family members had loads of patience and compassion,” the actor said.
Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group, Ms. Sangita Reddy, Director, Apollo Cancer Hospital, Dr. P. Vijay Anand Reddy and top cancer experts from India and abroad were present.
