Rajanna-Sircilla: IT and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday said the slogan ‘KCR’ (Kaluvalu, Cheruvulu and Reservoirs) given to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had gained meaning with the construction of irrigation projects in the State.
He said, Chandrashekhar Rao, constructed the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project to ensure that Telangana farmers emerged among the rich in country. During his whirlwind one-day tour of the district, he participated in various developmental programmes.
Addressing a gathering at Almaspur in Yellareddypet mandal, he said the Chief Minister introduced a number of welfare schemes to protect the interests of farmers since Chandrashekhar Rao himself was a farmer. “No other State in the country including Gujarat from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi hails, supplies round-the-clock power to farm sector,” he said.
Terming the Chief Minister as a strong supporter of the poor, he said a number of schemes had been implemented for the welfare of people who depend on traditional occupations.
Promising to fill Almaspur tank with water, he said that it was his responsibility to make areas like Konaseema of Andhra Pradesh. Not only Almaspur, all tanks in the district would be filled with water, he said.
