Vikarabad: Stating that he was aware of the wishes of his people, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday announced that he will shift Vikarabad district from Palamuru zone to Hyderabad zone, fulfilling a demand from the locals.

Besides completing the Palamuru Lift Irrigation Scheme (LIS), he assured to develop Anantagiri Hills into a major tourist attraction for which plans were afoot. “These will be my gifts to you if you vote for TRS candidate Dr Anand. My only aim is to see smiles on the faces of people of my State,” he told the massive crowd which cheered in his support in unison.

Participating in a public meeting at Vikarabad, Chandrashekhar Rao pointed out that Vikarabad would have never become a district headquarters if not for him. He assured that a new ayacut of five lakh acres will be created by completing Palamuru LIS in Vikarabad constituency. “Every inch of Telangana is mine and only when we improve cultivation, the purpose of separate Telangana will be achieved. We will bring one crore acres under cultivation,” he asserted.

The Chief Minister advised people to think before they cast their vote and compare the 58-year regime of Congress-TDP with that of the four-year rule of TRS. He urged them to think why Congress-TDP were unable to accomplish the tasks and addressed people’s issues like TRS did in the past four years.

“Every other leader in Congress leader is an intellectual. Chandrababu Naidu himself claims to have put Hyderabad on the international map. But none of them were able to supply uninterrupted power to the farm sector or implement the welfare schemes that TRS launched in the last four years,” he said.

Chandrashekhar Rao stated that Telangana was number one in the implementation of welfare schemes with a budget of Rs 43,000 crore, while no other State was able to launch innovative schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, Shaadi Mubarak and Aasara pensions. He observed that while all other political parties confined to their words, TRS had turned its promises into actions. He urged people to vote for TRS candidate Dr Anand, terming him as a spotless politician and service-oriented professional. Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy, TRS MLA nominee Dr Anand and other leaders also were present.
