Khammam, Kothagudem Collectors review election arrangements

Khammam/Kothagudem: The district administrations of Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem have planned awareness programmes regarding the ongoing voters enrollment.

Khammam Collector RV Karnan during a meeting with representatives of political parties asked them to appoint booth level agents forthwith to enroll new voters. Focus should be laid on enrolling youth who became eligible for voting as on Jan 1, 2018.

He said another round of meeting with the representatives of political parties would be held after the EVMs and VVPATs reach the district headquarters.

Kothagudem Collector Rajat Kumar Saini held a review meeting on election arrangements with election returning officers and assistant election returning officers at the district headquarters on Friday.

The Collector directed the returning officials to make arrangements for smooth and transparent conduct of elections. For fair and free polling every eligible person must be enrolled in the electoral rolls, he said.

Saini said on Saturday awareness on voter enrollment would be taken out in the streets of Kothagudem involving students. Similarly social media would also be used to spread awareness on the issue.
