Khammam: A pall of gloom descended on Kasba Bazar in the city following the news of missing of Sanne Ujwal Sriharsha, the son of the BJP district unit president Sanne Uday Pratap.
Sriharsha, aged around 24 years, studying in London reportedly went missing. The London police have intimated the parents over phone about their son’s missing. With the news spreading here Pratap’s friends and relatives arrived at his residence at Kasba Bazar offering moral support.
“He went to London in September last year to pursue MS (Artificial Intelligence) at Queen Mary University of London. We received a call from London police on Friday evening informing about missing complaint lodged by the University and they are searching for the student.”, Pratap told the press here on Saturday with his eyes full of tears.
‘The police said they could find whereabouts our son only after two days and it was learnt the search would be stopped on Saturday and Sunday. I appeal London police and Indian High Commission in London to please find our son’ he said grieving.
According to him the last call made by Sriharsha was on Aug 21 morning on which he spoke to his mother, when they called him over phone on Aug 22 there was no response from him. He had recently been to Tokyo in Japan on a project work.
The London police who have registered a missing case have found a bag belonging to Sriharsha on a seashore in London.
On learning the news the Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy called Uday Pratap over phone and consoled him. The Minister also contacted Union External Affairs officials and asked them to take necessary steps to trace out the missing youth, sources said.
Khammam MP Nama Nageswar Rao also consoled the BJP leader Pratap saying he will do his part in tracing out Sriharsha. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) district president Dr. G Venkateswarlu and others also called on Pratap and extending him moral support.
