Warangal Urban: Vijay Kumar Reddy Polepally, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW), was awarded Ph.D. degree by JNTU, Hyderabad (JNTUH).

In a press note here on Thursday, KITS Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said that Vijay Kumar had submitted his thesis titled “Nature Inspired Meta-Heuristics Based Improved Load Balancing Techniques for Cloud”. He carried out his research under the supervision of Dr K Shahu Chatrapati, Professor and Head, Department of CSE, JNTUH, Manthani.

“The outcome of his research work can be adopted by many cloud providers for efficient load balancing in the cloud data center which increases the effective utilization of cloud resources. The most important cloud resources i.e., CPU, Memory are significantly optimized with an application Nature inspired meta-Heuristics. Three novel algorithms, namely Exponential Gravitational Search Algorithm, Multiple-objective EGSA and Hybrid Dragonfly based EGSA algorithm were designed and implemented. Integration of these proposed algorithms would greatly improve the revenue of the cloud providers,” Prof Ashoka Reddy said and added that the research work has a lot of significance in properly accommodating more data and code used to implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms and Data Science projects in the Cloud.

Vijay Kumar has published five research papers. Three of them were published in the SCI indexed international journals. He also presented a research paper in an international conference. Dean R&D Prof P Niranjan Reddy, HoD CSE Prof V Shanker, PRO Dr D Prabhakara Chary and others have congratulated him on being awarded Ph.D. degree.
