Kodad police rescue minor girl, arrests three

Suryapet: Kodad police on Friday, rescued a girl and arrested three persons, who tried to force the girl in to flesh trade.

The arrested were identified as Syed Mujeruddin alias Ravoof (23) and Syed Rasheeda (21), residents of Uppal in Hyderabad, and, Mannem Radha (36), native Komurabanda village in Suryapet district.

Presenting the arrested before the media, Kodad Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramana Reddy said Mujeruddin came in contact with the minor girl, a native of Bihar, five months ago and tried becoming friends with her. He then lured the girl promising to marry her. Believing his worlds, the girl came to Hyderabad on July 17.

Mujeruddin and his wife Rasheeda tried to force the girl into prostitution and shifted her to Komurabanda village in Suryapet district. They handed over the girl to Radha, a native of Komurabanda village on July 21 for flesh trade.

But the girl escaped and reached Kodad Rural Police station and complained about the matter. The police raided the house of Radha and took the accused into custody. Cases were filed against the accused under sections of POCSO Act and Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act.

Kodad Rural Circle Inspector  Madhusudan Reddy, Munagala sub-inspector Nagesh and Chilukuru sub-inspector Ramulu also attended the press conference.
