Siddipet: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Sunday laid foundation stone for Rs 1.50 crore worth development works at Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, Konayipally, located in Nanganoor mandal of the district.

Rao also announced an additional grant of Rs 50 lakh for construction of a function hall on the premises of the temple. The Irrigation Minister further said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had great faith in the presiding deity of the temple.

The Irrigation Minister said that the Chief Minister had announced several key decisions, including the announcement of the formation of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on April 27, 2001, after performing prayers at this temple.
