Kothagudem: Woman murdered, kin blames husband

Sources said the two got married six years ago and there were frequent quarrels between them as Ravi was an alcoholic

Kothagudem: A married woman was beaten to death allegedly by her husband at Indira Colony of Paloncha in Kothagudem district. The family members of the woman identified as Ambala Keerthana (24) blamed her husband Ravi for her death.

Sources said the two got married six years ago and there were frequent quarrels between them as Ravi was an alcoholic. During a quarrel on Sunday, Ravi, in a fit of rage, beat Keerthana with a pestle causing serious head injuries, which led to her death.

Soon after the incident  Ravi left home and his motorbike which was was found abandoned on the brigde across Godavari at Bhadrachalam. It was suspected that he might have ended his life by jumping into the river.

Two commit suicide

In another incident at P V Colony of Manugur, a 27 year old driver allegedly hanged himself on a hillock near the colony. His family complained that his former employee was harassing him to pay money as compensation in an accident he had caused.

At Aswaraopet, Kakarla Rammohan (35) ended his life by hanging himself at his house. Family disputes were said to be the reason for his extreme step.

Hit and run case

In a hit and run case, a Yakobu (60) of Tekulapalli of Chandrugonda mandal died at Tippanapalli of Penuballi mandal in Khammam. The police registered a case and were investigating.
