Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao will address the first ever Indian Mobile Congress 2017 being jointly organised by Union Ministry of Telecommunications and Cellular Operators’ Association of India at Delhi from September 27 to 29.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the three-day global event which is being hosted on the lines of the yearly global mega event World Mobile Congress held in Barcelona, to attract investments from global players in the telecom and mobile phone manufacturing sectors to expand their business in India.
On Wednesday, Union Minister for Communications Manoj Sinha invited KT Rama Rao to participate in the global event and deliver a speech on ‘Sustainable Wifi’. KTR is expected to explain about the Telangana government’s prestigious project ‘T-Fiber’, a project for providing Internet connectivity to every household in the State using fiber optic cables laid along with drinking water pipelines under Mission Bhagiratha scheme.
He will also make presentation on digital payments, smart energy solutions, e-health and e-education initiatives initiated by the TS government.
Rama Rao thanked the Union government and felt that it was an honour bestowed upon the TS government for bringing changes in daily lives of people using technology.
Nearly 5,000 delegates and 800 exhibitors from the countries of US, UK, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Korea, Philippines, Bhutan, Israel and Japan are expected to participate in this global event which is aimed at facilitating the Central government’s flagship programmes like Digital India, Make in India and Skill India, among others.
